Peek A Boo Place Card Box

Pin It Now!

One last quick project for the Thanksgiving table before Thursday. We all know that Thanksgiving is a time to praise God for all we've been given and PLACECARDS! I was trying to think of a new way to create a unique and fun placecard when I found an extra Peek-A-Boo Box from my i have my EYE on you treats. And it hit me - why not make a cute placecard AND a favor box at the same time?

I went back to my Peek-A-Boo Box .cut file and used the [Cornucopia Box]. To display my guest's name I used the [leaf-Accent/Frame] from the the Storybook Cartridge. This die-cut doesn't have layers or shadows features, so I played around with it and was able to piece it together. The little tag strip with the name, also came from the Storybook Cartridge. Its the [Marquee2] die-cut with the top and bottom trimmed off. I was able to fit 6 Hershey Nuggets inside, but I only used 4 for my Peek-A-Boo Place Card Box.

I also placed a Thanksgiving Sentiment on the other side for when the box is closed or for the person across to read. I used my Cuttlebug and Large Circle Nestabilites to cut and emboss the sentiment. The scalloped circle is from Mini Monograms.

It's A Girl Star-Shaped Favor Box

When I took the challenge to create the Star-Shaped Favor Box for a Baby Shower, I immediately thought a 'It's A Boy!'. It could be because I have two boys of my own and I'm initially inclined to boy things. As I was writing my post on Wednesday, I thought - what if its a girl? - so I decided to create another star-shaped favor box for a baby girl.

Luckily, I had an older Making Memories line called "Cosmopolitan" with a great Girl Color Combo. For this favor box, I filled it with paper shreds and some pink Starburt Candies.

Star-Shaped Favor Box

Pin It Now!

Cricut Expression; Cricut Design Studio; StarBox_ScrappinCookie .cut File; Bazzill "Avalanche", "North Sea", "Ruby Slipper" Cardstock; Deja Views "Sharon Ann's Little One's" Collection; DMC Floss; Misc - Button, Eyelet, Ribbon

We interrupt these Thanksgiving Projects to bring you...The Star-Shaped Favor Box.

Last week a member of the Cricut Messageboard asked if someone could create a star-shaped favor box for a baby shower. AND I took on the challenge. This is what I came up with:

The box measures 3" x 3" x 1.5". Quite a few pieces of candy fit inside or maybe a small gift. For this "It's A Boy" star box, I filled it with Hershey Kisses.

I used the Deja Views' "Little Ones" Collection to make the box. Since I designed the box in two pieces, I was able to use a striped piece of paper for the [Bottom Star Box] and a piece of Bazzill cardstock for the [Lid Star Box].

Turkey Cards

Pin It Now!

Cricut Expression, Cricut Animal Kingdom Cartridge; Cricut Alphalicious; Bazzill "Dusk", "London Fog", "French Vanilla", "Tangelo" Cardstock; KI Memories "Grateful" Papers;  Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch; DMC Floss; Misc - Walmart Papers; Buttons; Ribbon;

This weekend I had the kids make a few Thanksgiving Cards for the Grandmothers. I painted each of their little fingers different colors to make them look like "feathers" and their palm's brown for the "body" of the turkey. I then cut out some "turkey bodies" and "GOBBLE" sentiments using the Cricut Animail Kingdom Cartridge.

I based two of the cards on Karen's Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 93(SSSC93).  These measure 5x7.

The other two cards are based on Talyored Expression's Sketch Challenge 133(TESC133). These measure 6x6.

Place Card Utensil Holder

While assembling yesterday's Utensil Holder sample, lightening hit me and I came up with a GREAT idea! What about using the Utensil Holder as a Place Card?! I simply tied a White Satin Ribbon around the holder and added a tag with my guest's name - well ok, my name. The tag is 'TY/Accent Blackout' from the Storybook cart cut out in several layers. I added a cute little little tree from the My Community cart to match the papers. I think these will turn out great and my guests will be delighted to see their names included.

Utensil Holder

Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio; Utensil Holder_ScrappinCookie.cut file; Cricut Storybook; Cricut Paper Dolls Dress Up; Bazzill 'French Vanilla', 'London Fog', 'Tangelo' Cardstock; KI Memories 'Grateful Tree Farm'; Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch; Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' Embossing Folder; 'Happy Thanksgiving' wordart by Bethany; Misc - Patterned Paper from Walmart.

While browsing the Cricut Messageboard, I came across a very cute Halloween Utensil Holder by Luv2Craft4uDesigns. This reminded me that I had seen something like that on Etsy before and I've been wanting to try it. So, I did. I created my own Utensil Holder .cut file - available via request.

The label tag was made using the 'Marquee2' from the Storybook cart, cut out in several layers. The pumpkins are from Paper Dolls Dress Up 'frnksn-s/Accessories1'. I simply hid the face features using DS and cut it out several times to layer it. I passed thru the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. The 'Happy Thanksgiving' Sentiment comes from Elegant WordArt by Bethany.
