Spring Is In the Air Canvas

Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio, Cricut Create A Critter Cartridge, Bazzill Cardstock, Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge, Best Occasion(Walmart) Cardstock, DCWV Cardstock, Cuttlebug Machine, Cuttlebug Divine Swirls Folder, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder, Stickles 'Orange Peel', Uni-ball White Pen, Misc - Black Pen, Googly Eyes, Pop-Dots

With two beautiful days of 60 degree weather on Thursday and Friday and I definitely got a Spring feel. Which was perfect for this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge. Challenge Me Monday #47 was all about Weather Forecast and I'm SOO ready for some Spring Air.

I decided to go with a 5x5 Spring Canvas. I first laid everything out using Design Studio. Everything but the grass - which is from Paper Doll Dress Up - is from Create A Critter. I inked all edges and then doodled some stitches. Some pieces were embossed and others were pop dotted.

The following were cut out at 2"

The following were cut out at 1"
*Clouds (3 small ones)

The Large Cloud was cut at 1.5" and the grass was resized to fit in the 5x5 square.

The "Spring is in the Air" sentiment was quickly created in MS Word.

This Spring Canvas will also be submitted to the following challenges:

Love is Persistence

Cricut Expression, Cricut Don Juan Cartridge, Bazzill "Avalanche", "Berry Blush", "Ruby Slipper" Cardstock, Cloud 9 Design Paper, Cuttlebug Embossing Machine, Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" Embossing Folder, Sizzix "Starry Night" Embosing Folder, Lg Rectangles Nestabilities, More Than Love Sentiments_Raindrop Echo Designs, The Queen Co. "Berry Red" Pearls, Misc - Ribbon.

This has been the FASTEST card I've ever made! It might have something to do with the fact that one of the challenges this card is for closes in a few hours.

One challenge was to use Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #104.  Instead of using a circular embellishment, I went with two hearts from the Don Juan Cartridge. I used my Swiss Dots Folder to emboss them.

The second challenge this card is for is Senitmental Sundays. I recently found this challenge blog and have fallen in LOVE with them. Its all about using sentiments - I LOVE sentiments. The challenge this week was to use the following colors, plus a sentiment.

For my card, I used their Weekly Freebie called More than Love, designed by Ann Vento from Raindrop Echo Designs. You can find more of her BEAUTIFUL digital and rubber sentiments at the Whimsy Stamps Store.

Valentine Test Tube

Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio, SingleTestTube Holder_ScrappinCookie CUT File, Bazzill 'Berry Blush' 'Carob' 'French Vanilla' 'Red Devil' Cardstock, Cloud 9 Design Paper, AC Moore Valentine Pick, Studio G Valentine Stamp, American Craft Ribbon, Test Tube Holder, M&M's chocolate.

Candy filled Test Tubes aren't just for Halloween. They make a perfect quick little candy gift for the teachers, co-workers, friends, basically anyone.

I added my own special touch to Lisa Somerville's Test Tube Holders, by adjusting the size of the holder and creating a Cricut CUT File for it. The Holder can hold either a .75" or 1" wide test tube. If using a 1" Test Tube, you'll need to resize the circle opening.

I got my Test Tubes from Shot Wizard which are manufactured by Lake Charles Manufacturing. They are 5" tall and 3/4" wide, which makes putting the M&M candies inside a real patience tester. Next time I will get the 1" wide test tubes.

I embellised the holded with a Paper Rosetter and AC Moore Valentine Pick. I used my PaperRosette CUT File, which makes the scoring part so much easier. I then stamped a Studio G Valentine Stamp on a piece of Bazzill French Vanilla Cardstock and attached it with Glue Dots. To tie it all together I added a piece of ribbon to the test tube.

Smartie Candy Holder

Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio, LipBalm Holder_ScrappinCookie CUT File, Bazzill 'Berry Blush' 'Pollen' Cardstock, DCWV Cardstock(green), Pebbles Inc 'Twitterpated' Paper, MeljensDesigns_LittleLightBulb_FREEBIE Digital Stamp, Prisma Color Pencils, Baby Oil, Misc - Ribbon.

I've seen several Lip Balm Holders in the galleries and thought it would make a nice little holder for a Valentine Treat. So I took the original idea of Renee Ondrajka and altered it a bit to hold a Smarties' candy. These will be this years Valentine Treat for my son's First Grade classmates.

The adorable Light Bulb image is a digital stamp from Meljen's Designs. Melissa has the cutest digital stamps and can be purchased at Whimsy Stamps. I colored the image using Prisma Color Pencils and Baby Oil. I still have lots of coloring practice to do, as my printer's ink ran with the Baby Oil.

The holder measures about 2.50" x 3.50" and holds one Smartie Candy Roll. For the inside sentiment, I used my favorite Valentine Cards I WordArt from Bethany. I just can't get enough of these wordarts.

I've also included a Lip Balm Holder on the CUT File.

Valentine Heart Box

Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio, HeartBox_ScrappinCookie CUT File, Bazzill "Concord Grape", "Red Devil", "Quick Sand" Cardstock, Valentine Cards I WordArt by Bethany, Misc - Flowers, Pattern Paper

Here is another take on my Heart Box CUT File/Tutorial available for purchase for only $3.95.

I only used the scalloped base for the bottom of the box.

I pop-dotted the smaller scalloped heart found in the 'Lid Accessories' tab. Adorned it with some paper flowers I found at my local $1 store and a WordArt by Bethany. The branches are from the Storybook Cartridge, these are not included in the CUT File.

I used an older Color Combination Challenge from SCS as inspiration - CC307. It called to use Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Riding Hood Red  and Neutrals (ivory, white, or black) from Stampin Up!. I don't own SU! cardstock so I used the closest colors I had: Quick Sand, Concord Grape, Red Devil, and Avalanche from Bazzill.

I filled this box with several pieces of Lindt Milk Chocolate Chocolates.
