My Craft Spot Winter Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #1 - Sprinkled Christmas

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, Cricut Cartridges(Storybook, Plantin SchoolBook, Winter Frolic), Artful Delight 'November' Kit, My Craft Spot('Rusty Red' Seam Binding, 'Peppermint' Twine, 'Jingle All the Way' Stamp Set), Queen & Co Pearls(Grass Green), Sticko Stickers(Poinsettias), Dollar Tree(Salt/Pepper Shakers), Misc - Rose. Finished Card Size: 5.25" x 5.25"

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to My Craft Spot's Winter Stamp Release Party Sneak Peak #1!

All week long, the My Craft Spot DT will be featuring Sneak Peeks from ONE of 5 NEW Stamp Sets and EIGHT NEW Twine Colors! Then on Saturday, November 5th, we will have a Stamp Release Party Blog Hop! There will be TONS of prizes along the way, so you won't want to miss it!

My Sneak Peek today uses a phrase from the NEW "Jingle All the Way" Stamp Set.

I LOVED the phrase and turned it into a SPRINKLED CHRISTMAS Gift Set.

As soon as I saw the sentiment I remembered a little gift set I had seen from a fellow Whimsie Doodles DT Member using a Salt and Pepper Shaker. I knew it would be the PERFECT play for this phrase from the "Jingle All the Way" Stamp Set.

I ran to my local Dollar Tree and purchased a set of pre-packaged glass Salt & Pepper Shakers. I created a small box holder out of a GORGEOUS Bo Bunny Blitzen paper(more info later in this post and tomorrow.  ;-)  ).  Created a bow using some My Craft Spots' NEW "Rusty Red" Seam Binding.

Tied a "To/From" Tag with "Peppermint" Bakers Twine - available at My Craft Spot. Like the Tag? Well, you'll have to come back tomorrow to find out where its from. ;)

Some "Peppermint" Bakers Twine was also tied around each individual Shaker. The shakers with filled with "LAUGHTER"(green M&M's) and "LOVE"(red M&M's).

The card was based on the Viva La Verve October Week 5 Sketch.

The are papers are from the Bo Bunny's Blitzen collection and Prima's North Country collection; just some of the papers included in the 'November' Artful Delight Kit. For more information on the kits contents, please come back tomorrow for a FULL post.

The scalloped oval(pg. 49) was cut from the Cricut Storybook Cartridge, the ovals(pg. 72) were cut from the Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge, and the sentiment frame is actually a tag(pg. 30) from the Winter Frolic Cartridge, as are vines underneath the rose. Unfortunately, I didn't write down what sizes I cut them at - Sorry.

The rose was sprinkled with some Pink Paislee "Coconut" Pixie Glitter to give it a more Christmas/Winter feel. It sits on top a bow made from "Rusty Red" Seam Binding and "Peppermint" Bakers Twine from the My Craft Spot Store.

To make this lovely sentiment from the "Jingle All the Way" Stamp Set stand out, I used my Homemade Dimensionals.

The inside of the card is completed with a Simple Inside Layout.

I hope you  have enjoyed my project for My Craft Spot's Winter Release Party Sneak Peek #1. To see more "Sneak Peeks" of the "Jingle All the Way" Stamp Set - available for purchase on Saturday, November 5th, please visit My Craft Spot Blog. You don't want to miss it!

Happy Halloween

Hi Everyone!

I'm not too big on Halloween and definitely NOT into all the scray stuff. But I still wanted to wish everyone a SAFE Halloween! And share a few Halloween Treats that the kids and I put together during the weekend.

We made about 50 or more of these little M&M treat bags. I had the kids color in the "Halloween Hootenannies" from Whimsie Doodles while I separated the M&M's by color. Then 23 M&M's to be exact were put inside of clear treat bags and given a respective topper.

I hope you got a smile from these little Halloween Treats!

My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #31 - Halloween Kabob

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, ScrappinCookie Cut File(SkinnyBox), Bazzill Clear Plastic(.70 thickness), My Craft Spot("Deep Purple" Crinkled Ribbon, "Orange Licorice" Bakers Twine, "Happy Haunting" Stamp Set), ACMoore Candy Stick. Finished Size: 1-9/16"W x 7-1/4"H x 1-1/2"D.

Happy Monday Everyone!

This week we have a FUN challenge for you over at My Craft Spot - SEE THROUGH PROJECTS. Simply create a project using acetate or other clear products.

Although my project today is rather simple, its more than just adding  ribbon to a box. I took a simple Halloween Candy and gave it a much cuter home; perfect for gifting.

The story begins during a trip to my local ACMoore with my 4 year old son. While waiting to pay, he found this ADORABLE candy stick and of course wanted it. I, immediately said YES, but not for him to eat - for me to repurpose! Here is a quick look at what the original packaging looks like - very unappealing, if you ask me.

I cut the "Skinny Box" CUT File(available via commnet request) from .070 thick Bazzill CLEAR Plastic using the Cricut Expression. I don't really recommend using this size thickness, as the Cricut doesn't cut it all the way thru. I honestly prefer using the Grafix .007 Clear Plastic, it gives you a nice clean cut - Disclaimer: This is just my personal opinion; no affliation to Grafix - but couldn't find any at a reasonable price at the moment.

I tied the box closed with some "Deep Purple" Crinkled Ribbon and attached the tag with some "Orange Licorice" Bakers Twine - both available at My Craft Spot.

For my sentiment, I went this cute phrase from the My Craft Spot "Happy Hauntings" Stamp Set.

Here is one last quick close-up of the gummies. Aren't they just CUTE?!

Ok, NOW its your turn! Create a SEE THROUGH PROJECT and link it up to My Craft Spot by Sunday, October 30th 11:59AM EST for your chance to win this week's prize. Be sure to visit the My Craft Spot Blog, to see more SEE THROUGH PROJECTS from the DT.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge #78 - Happy Halloween

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, Cricut Cartridges(Mini Monograms, Plantin SchoolBook), Bazzill Cardstock(Limeade, Purple Pizzazz, Stonehedge, Tangelo), The Paper Company Cardstock(Black, White), DCWV "Midnight Spell" Collection, Whimise Doodles "Halloween Hootenannies" Stamps(Cat, Spider), My Craft Spot("Mandarin", "Honey Dew" Bakers Twine, "Happy Hauntings" Stamp Set), PrismaColor Pencils, Nestabilities Dies(Lg. Rectangles, Lg. Circles), Martha Stewart "SpiderWeb" Punch, ZIG Black Pen, Misc - Button. Finished Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Welcome to Sentimental Sundays' Challenge #78 - HALLOWEEN. With HALLOWEEN only one week away, this week's challenge is to create a HALLOWEEN project; don't forget your sentiment!

This week Sentimental Sundays is being sponsored by no other than Whimise Doodles!! Whimsie Doodles' digital stamp line features images that range from cute little boys and girls, to punny stuff, and everything in-between. Not only are they offering a $10 GC to the lucky winner, but Melyssa has generously provided the Sentimental Sundays' DT with her "HALLOWEEN Hootenannies" digital set!

As some of you might know, I'm lucky enough to be part of the Whimsie Doodles' DT. But haven't had the opportunity to use all of the HALLOWEEN Hootenannies, so when I found out that Sentimental Sundays was going to sponsored by Whimsie Doodles, I knew exactly which images I wanted to use.

HALLOWEEN Hootenanny Cat

I based the card on the Sketch n Stash Challenge #72 Sketch. And the "Happy HALLOWEEN" Sentiment is from the My Craft Spot "Happy Hauntings" Stamp Set. The "Mandrin" Bakers' Twine is also available at My Craft Spot.

Isn't he just ADORABLE? I colored him in with a mixture of PrismaColor Pencils and Crayola Color Pencils.

HALLOWEEN Hootenanny Spider

This card was based on the Card Patterns' Sketch #137. Used the same "Happy HALLOWEEN" sentiment from the My Craft Spot "Happy Hauntings" Stamp Set, except I stamped it to fit on one line. I tied some "Honey Dew" Bakers Twine - available at My Craft Spot - around a Martha Stewart "SpiderWeb" Border Punch strip. The scalloped circle was cut from the Cricut Mini Monograms at 2.25" REAL DIAL SIZE.

I used my PrismaColor Pencils and Crayola Color Pencils to color this CUTIE. The inspiration for the red legs came from a little spider on my HALLOWEEN Kabob project - being released tomorrow; stay tuned.

Ok, NOW its your turn! Create a HALLOWEEN project PLUS A SENTIMENT and link it up to Sentimental Sundays by Saturday, October 30th 11:59PM EST for your chance to win this week's prize. Be sure to visit the Sentimental Sundays Blog, to see more HALLOWEEN inspiration from the DT.

Today I have card to share with you, using one of the NEWEST releases from Whimsie Doodles. This new cute digi stamp is just PERFECT for Fall. Its called Nuts About You and is available for purchase at the Whimsie Doodles Store.

I used my PrismaColor Pencils to color in the ADORABLE little fairy. I paper pieced her dress with some of  the Crate Paper Farmhouse "Accent Cuts" - backside - from the Artful Delight 'September Kit' - sorry, SOLD OUT. I also added some of Pink Paislee's Pixie Glitter to her wings.

I based my card on this week's Deconstructed Sketch #23.

I replaced the oval sentiment piece for a two-loop bow made with "Caramel" Crinkled Ribbon from My Craft Spot. On top I layered some "Caribbean" Bakers Twine, - also available at My Craft Spot - an American Craft button and two Stick Pin I had in my stash.

For the inside of my card, I went with a Simple Design.

My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #30 - Bewitching Hat

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, Cricut Design Studio, Cricut Cartridges(Life's A Party, Plantin SchoolBook), DCWV "Midnight Spell" Collection, My Craft Spot("Midnight Black" Crinkled Ribbon, "Orange Licorice" Bakers Twine, "Candy Corn Kisses" Stamp Set), Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist(Pearl), Me and My Big Ideas(Orange Rhinestones), AC Moore(Feathers, Silk Flowers, Picks).

Happy Monday Everyone!

Here again, with this week's My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #30. This week we thought we would challenge ourselves and our followers to create a 3D HALLOWEEN project!

Now, if you've been following my blog, you KNOW I'm ALL about 3D!!! I just LOVE making these type of projects, they are soo much fun! So when Kimberly told us to make a 3D HALLOWEEN project, my head started spinning with ideas. But I finally settled for this BEAUTY - a 3D Witch Hat!

~*~  PUBLISHED in the Cricut Magazine October 2012  ~*~

I don't usually toot my own horn, but it turned out AMAZING!! Its soo much better in person, trust me.

I started by cutting a 6-1/4" 'Monkey Hat'(pg.56) from the Cricut Life's A Party Cartridge in a GEORGEOUS paper from the DCWV "Midnight Spell" Collection. Assembled it - a little hard to do - and set it aside.

Then - also from the Cricut Life's A Party Cartridge - I cut a 6-1/4" Circle(pg.47) using the Card Feature. I was using a brand new mat so when I lifted the circle off, it gave it this AWESOME curve shape - very similar that of a real witch hat. I distressed the edges with my Heidi Swapp Distresser and added some "Black Diamond" Stickles.

Before placing the 'Hat' on its base, I gathered some Tulle I had Hand-Dyed Black and Orange.

I wrapped some of My Craft Spots' "Midnight Black" Crinkled Ribbon around the 'Hat' and created a three-loop bow.

Next, I centered three silk flowers I had picked up from the Floral Dept at ACMoore with some orange rhinestones. I had all the intensions to use 3D Flowers from the Cricut Flower Shoppe Cartridge, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere - even is SOLD OUT.

Behind the Flowers I added some Feathers I had also picked up from ACM. And a little trio of Orange and White Picks.

To finish it off, I added a 1" Tag from the Cricut Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge using the Roly Poly Feature stamped with a sentiment from the My Craft Spot "Candy Corn Kisses" Stamp Set. Added an eyelet and tied some "Orange Licorice" Bakers Twine - also available at My Craft Spot.

At last minute, I decided to give it a quick spray of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist. NOTE: Don't glimmer feathers - which I did -, as they look like they were dropped in a pool of oil.

Here's a quick look at my 3D Bewitching Hat from a TopView and without the Sentiment Tag.

Ok, NOW its your turn! Create a 3D HALLOWEEN project and link it up to My Craft Spot by Sunday, October 23rd 11:59PM EST for your chance to win this week's prize. Be sure to visit the My Craft Spot Blog, to see more 3D HALLOWEEN inspiration from the DT.
