Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, Cricut Cartridges(Simply Charmed, Plantin Schoolbook, Accent Essentials), Bazzill Cardstock(Clover Leaf Dotted Swiss), The Paper Company(Whipped Cream, White), Wausau Paper(Chalice Silver on Silver Armor), Reminisce 'the 4th/DC' Collection(All Star Salute, All American), Doodlebug Sugar Coated Cardstock(Blue Jean), My Craft Spot('Vanilla Bean' Crinkled Ribbon, 'Vintage Red' Baker's Twine), Everyday {365} Birthday Sentiments, Misc - Roses, Brads

This week most challenge blogs are all about having a HAPPY 4TH!

Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge Me Monday #66 is all about the RED, WHITE & BLUE.

Birthday Sundaes' Challenge #15 is all about STARS & STRIPES plus a birthday sentiment.

Sentimental Sundays' Challenge #61 is all about PATRIOTIC colors plus a sentiment.

I took all these challenges and incorporated them into ONE Patriotic Star-Shaped Card.

The base of this PATRIOTIC card was designed with two 5" Simply Charmed shadow stars welded with Design Studio. This card has several layers, each one being 1/2" smaller than the previous. In between each layer are my homemade deminsionals to the card some pop.

The card was made using Reminisce's 'the 4th/DC' Collection papers - All Star Salute(STARS) & All American(STRIPES).

I thought the colors matched perfectly with this week's ColourQ #91 Challenge.

To the bottom-left corner I added a 2" STAR from the Plantin Schoolbook. On top I added a cluster of RED, WHITE, & BLUE roses with some leaves made from the Accent Essentials cartridge. The roses were misted with some 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist.

To tie it all off, I used some 'Vanilla Bean' Crinkled Ribbon from the 'Old Glory' Set available at My Craft Spot.

The sentiment is from the digital Everyday {365} Birthday Stamps by Karen Lewis. The stamp was recolored in PSE8 using SU! Night of Navy and SU! Basic Grey RGB color codes I found online.

I hope you have enjoyed this PATRIOTIC card. And if you haven't already done so, I hope you join us in the HAPPY 4TH challenges!

This card will also be entered into the following challenges:

* Cricut Circle Blog - Weekly Challenge #35 Patriotic Pride

Don't have these cartridge, but my STRIPED STAR looks like a cut on the cartridge.

Hi!

This week's challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is all about having a HAPPY 4TH! Simply create a project with the colors RED, WHITE & BLUE and you will be entered to win this week's prize, sponsored by Reminisce. For more details, please visit FCCB.

Today's project takes us back to one of my FIRST CUT Files - a French Fry Box - with a Patriotic twist.

It roughly measures 4.25" x 4" and can hold TONS of goodies. Since I plan on using these for my HAPPY 4TH Barbeque, I filled a clear treat bag with Crunch n' Munch Toffee Popcorn.

The French Fry Box was cut out using Reminisce's the 4th/DC Collection, which happens to be this week's Sponsored Prize. *Wink Wink*

I used 'Scarlet Red' Crinkled Ribbon from the "Old Glory" Set available at My Craft Spot. I scrunched up the ribbon following a tutorial from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I love the look of the ribbon, but it wasn't an easy task. I had a very had time until I saw the video they link to. If you are going to try this technique, I suggest that you watch the video.

I added a 2" star from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge cut from Doodlebug Sugar Coated Cardstock. On top, I added some RED, WHITE & BLUE "Fireworks" - a pick I found at AC Moore back in the beginning for June. To finish it all off, I made a double loop bow out of Crinkled Ribbon, added a tag using the My Craft Spot "Sweet Sentiment #2" Clear Stamps and a Baker's Twine "Cherry Red" button.

Now, it's YOUR turn! Be sure to head on over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see all the RED, WHITE & BLUE projects!! Don't forget to link up your project by Sunday, July 3rd 11:59PM EST for your chance to win this week's Reminisce prize.

HELLO!

I'm super excited to share today's project with you! Last Wednesday, I announced my invitation to be part of another WONDERFUL Design Team - My Craft Spot. Thank You Kimberly! Since I first discovered My Craft Spot's Crinkled Ribbon, it was LOVE at first sight! Kimberly has such AMAZING colors and the ribbon is soo easy to work with. Everytime I use it, I fall more in love with it! I can't wait any longer, so without further ado, I give to you my FIRST My Craft Spot DT project!

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression, Cricut Cartridge(Plantin Schoolbook), ScrappinCookie Cut File(Star-Shaped Favor Box), Bazzill Cardstock(Avalanche, Great Lakes, Red Devil), Reminisce 'the 4th/DC' Collection(Independence Day, All American), My Craft Spot(Crinkled Ribbon - Navy Blue, Baker's Twine - Baby Blue, Clear Stamp Set - Sweet Sentiments #2), Misc - AC Moore Pick, Plastic Star

This week's My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #14 is all about SEEING STARS! Simply use a star - of any kind - somewhere on your project.

I automatically knew what I wanted to create for this week's SEEING STARS challenge! I turned to my Star-Shaped Favor Box created back in November 2010.

The box measures 3" x 3" x 1.5". Since I designed the box in two pieces, I was able to use piece of Reminisce 'Independence Day' paper for the [Bottom Star Box] and a piece of Bazzill cardstock for the [Lid Star Box].

I made a double loop bow - although you can't see it as a double - using the 'Navy Blue' Crinkled Ribbon from Kimberly's recently released 'Old Glory' Set - just perfect for any 4th of July project.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Sentiments #2 Clear Stamps Set by My Craft Spot. I'm not much of a stamper, but these stamps are making me change my mind. They stamp so clearly and smooth.

To finish it all off, I added a small bow made from 'Baby Blue' Baker's Twine - available at My Craft Spot - to a plastic star.

This cute little star-shaped favor box fits quite a few pieces of small candy or even a small gift. I plan on giving these out to family and friends during our 4th of July barbeque. I will be filling them with some small homemade cookies, but for now I've filled them with a few pieces of Hershey Kisses.

Now, head on over to My Craft Spot to see all the STARS the DT have in store for you. And be sure to check out all the AMAZING Crinkle Ribbon available! Don't forget to link up your SEEING STAR project by Sunday, July 3rd 11:59 EST for your chance to win this week's prize!

Today's Sentimental Sunday Challenge #61 is all about being PATRIOTIC! Simply use the color of your nation's flag plus a sentiment on your project.

This week we have TWO challenge sponsors - Heart Song Designs - the winner will receive their choice of 3 digital images from the Heart Song Designs store and Raindrop Echo Designs - this prize will be four INDIVIDUAL sentiment sets from the Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection

For this week project, I revisited my 3D Cupcake CUT File - afterall its AMERICA'S Birthday in one week.

The cupcake was designed using my Cricut Design Studio and Plantin SchoolBook cartridge to create this approximately 4" x 3.75" x 3.50" cupcake. It was designed in two pieces - the cupcake & the wrapper - which allowed me to give it a PATRIOTIC twist.

The 'cupcake' was made out of Bazzill 'Tapioca' cardstock to resemble a 'lemon/yellow' flavor. The edges were inked brown for a 'baked' look. I cut the 'wrapper' out of Reminisce's the 4th/DC 'Grande Finale' Paper. I added some 'frosting' by scrunching some ribbon with a needle and thread. To top off the cupcake, I sprinkled it some star-shaped sprinkles - cut from the Plantin Schoolbook - and a star pick.

The sentiment was created in PSE8 and sandwiched between a 1-1/2" star from the Birthday Bash Cartridge and a twine-bowed button.

The inside of this 3D Cupcake is big enough to hold several pieces of candy, some cookies or other goodies. For today's project, I filled it with TONS of Hershey Kisses.

Now, its YOUR turn! But before you get started, be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays Blog and check out all the PATRIOTIC projects!! Don't forget to link up your PATRIOTIC projects by Saturday, July 2nd at 11:59PM EST. Can't wait to see your PATRIOTIC - nation's flag color -  projects!

Happy Sunday!

Thank You for stopping by and joining me for this week's Birthday Sundaes Challenge #15! For this week's challenge incorporate STARS & STRIPES plus a Birthday Sentiment to your card.

This week Birthday Sundaes is unsponsored and we are playing just for fun. We'd love for you join us!

Since we'll be celebrating Independence Day in about a week, here in the US, I went with a Patriotic Birthday Card. However, I'm not too happy with the way it turned out. I already have plans to re-do it - so be in the lookout.

The stars were cut out from the Birthday Bash Cartridge at 2.5", 2", 1.25", 1" - I think. Since this cart doesn't have a shadow for this cut, I simly cut out another star 1/4" bigger than the sizes mentioned above.

My favorite part of this card is the Crinkled Ribbon from My Craft Spot. I absolutely love working with this type of ribbon! For today's card, I used the Navy Blue ribbon from Kimberly's recently released Old Glory Set - just perfect for any 4th of July project!

The 'Happy Birthday' Sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Inside & Out #2 Clear Stamp Set.

I added some Vintage Black Baker's Twine from the Twinery - also available at My Craft Spot - to each of my buttons.

The largest of the stars is popped out using some of my homemade deminsionals.

Today's card was based on this week's Mojo Monday 196 Sketch. I replaced the large oval for the set of three stars.

Now, be sure to check out the Birthday Sundaes Blog for even more STARS & STRIPES Birthday Cards. And don't forget to link up your card by Thursday, June 30th 6PM MST for your chance to be featured as a Super Sundae! Challenge will remain open 'til Saturday, July 2nd 11:59PM MST.

Hi Again!

I'm back with Birthday Sundaes Challenge #14! This week's challenge is being sponsored by Birthday Sundaes very own DT Member, Michelle! Michelle has very generously donated a Cricut "Just Because" Cards Cartridge to ONE lucky winner. Interested? All you have to do is make a SHAPED CARD for this week's Birthday Sundaes Challenge #14. NO squares or rectangles, and don't forget to add a Birthday Senitment/Wording to the card front.

For my SHAPED CARD, I went with the Life's A Party Cartridge and cut out the Treasure Chest using the card feature.

The Treasure Chest was cut out at 3-3/4" several times to give the card some layers/dimension. My initial intention was to add gold brads to the chest, but that didn't quite work out for a couple of reasons. So I opted for some Gold Paint dots made with the tip of a thin pen.

I removed the "lock" with my Cutterbee Scissors and replaced it a "lock" closure from an old wooden box. To make the Treasure Chest more realistic I snipped off the handles and added some small gold earrings. To one of the "handles" I inserted two keys to "open" the lock.

I added a quick Birthday sentiment from the My Craft Spot "Birthday Wishes" Stamp Set tied with a button and some Stone Twine - available at My Craft Spot.

The inside opens to reveal the "Treasure".

I cut the "Treasure"  from a piece of an old gold gift bag I had stored away. I love the shiny gold look it gives.

The inside was also stamped with a sentiment from the My Craft Spot "Birthday Wishes" Stamp Set.

NOW, be sure to check out the Birthday Sundaes Blog for more SHAPED Birthday Cards. And don't forget to link your SHAPED CARD by Thursday, June 23rd 6PM MST for your chance to be a Super Sundae and by Saturday, June 25th 11:59PM MST for your chance to win this week's prize.
