I was invited to join the Whimsie Doodles Design Team!!! I'm super excited as Melyssa has the BEST whimsical digital stamps. I've been a HUGE fan of their since they first started, so it's very exciting to be part of their Design Team.

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone in the Eastern Coast is doing well and are safe after being hit with the effects of Hurricane/Toprical Storm Irene. I, for one, was hit with the rain and winds, but THANKFULLY nothing serious. Some nearby cities were hit really hard and have some damages as well as flooding. I hope everyone stays safe during this time.

Onto this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #75. This week its all about a SPLASH OF COLOR: YELLOW. Simply create a project using the color YELLOW.

Last week, FCCB had the honor to be sponsored by American Crafts. Not did they sponsor FCCB, but they were soo kind to send me some of their RECENTLY RELEASED "Garden Cafe" Collection - which I used for my Sunflower Pot Card. Aren't the patterns just lovely?!

The Flower Pot is actually from the Cricut Freshly Picked Cartridge cut at 5-1/4". I used Design Studio to weld two of Flower Pot shadows to form the card base. The leaves and "sunflowers" were cut several time to give the card some layers.

The edges of each "Sunflower" was inked in YELLOW. I replaced a smaller flower, with two ovals from Plantin SchoolBook covered in "Coffee Bean" flocking powder. I added three small pearls from Recollections(Michaels' Brand). I think it makes my "Sunflower" look more realistic.

This time I tried a new bow-tying technique for my "Golden Harvest" Crinkled Ribbon - available at My Craft Spot. I'm not too sure how much I like it. To it I tied a YELLOW inked tag with a sentiment from the SMS "Sweet Somethings" Stamp Set with YELLOW twine.

For the inside, I left it blank for a personal message.

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Fabulous Shoes & Autumn Leaf

Welcome to the My Craft Spot "Stamp Release Party" Blog Hop!

The My Craft Spot DT Members have been cooking up lots of fun new projects and ideas featuring the 4 NEW Stamps Sets and 7 NEW Twine Colors. Each Design Team Member will be featuring an original "Stamp Release Party" project.

I don't have ONE, but TWO Stamp Release Projects for you today!

The first is a FABULOUS Witch Shoe.

As soon as I saw the "Witch Shoes" sentiment from the "Candy Corn Kisses" Stamp Set, I thought about the Ellen Hutson Shoe Template I had seen before.

The shoe measures approx. 6" wide x 4" high.

I gathered some "Smokey Black" Crinkled Ribbon - available at My Craft Spot - around the edges of the shoe.

For the front of the shoe, I made a small paper rosette topped with some "Vintage Black" Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot and "bones" from the Create-A-Critter Cartridge.

The inside of the shoe was lined with some Spider patterned paper from the $1 Spot at Target.

I tied a small goodie bag with some "Vintage Black" Baker's Twine - availabe at My Craft Spot - and placed it inside the shoe.

On to Stamp Release Party Project #2.

For my second Stamp Release Party project, I used the "Autumn Leaf" sentiment from the "Happy Fall" Stamp Set.

I fell in love with it immediately and knew I had to make some colorful autumn leaves. The leaves are from the Cricut Doodlecharms Cartridge cut at 1-3/8" using Design Studio. The acorn is from the same cartridge, and was resized using DS.

I gathered some of the "Pumpkin Spice" Crinkled Ribbon and made two small bows out of the NEW "Blue Berry Blue" Baker's Twine available at My Craft Spot.

Today we have another day FILLED with wonderful Sneak Peeks from the SOON-TO-BE RELEASED "Happy Fall" Stamp Set by My Craft Spot!

For today's sneak peek, I went with the "Happy Fall y'all" phrase from the "Happy Fall" Stamp Set.

When I think of a "Happy Fall", lots of warm colors and leaves come to mind. I used a cluster of warm colored roses with some fallen leaves tucked underneath. The larger rose is from Prima, but was orginally white. I dyed it orange and then inked the edges with some brown, orange, and red inks to give it a bright, crisp autumn feel.

The leaves tucked underneath are from the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge cut at 1-1/2" and 1-1/4". They were given a brown ink around the edges and then crumpled into a ball to give them a dry, fallen leave look.

The smaller rose by the bow was also white. I used a cosmetic sponge inked in brown to add color to the outer edges.

For the bow, I used the "Harvest Wine" Crinkled Ribbon from the "Colors of Autumn" Set. I also used some "Chocolate Truffle" Twine  - ONE of 7 NEW colors. You'll be able find these and many more colors at the My Craft Spot Store.

Today's card was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday 205 Sketch.

 

To create the Zig-Zag Border at the bottom, I used the "Wild Thing" die-cut paper(pg. 46) from the Cricut Life's A Party Cartridge. After cutting the entire image, I treated like any other paper and simly cut off the piece I needed.

For the Scalloped Border, I used the Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge.

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to My Craft Spot's Stamp Release Party Sneak Peak #1!

My Sneak Peek today uses a phrase from the NEW "Candy Corn Kisses" Stamp Set.

I LOVED the phrase and had a whole different project in mind for it. But it not being fully Halloween Season, I had to resort to Plan B - a Candy Corn Shaped Card.

The Candy Corn(pg. 122) was cut from the Doodlecharms Cartridge in several different sizes. See, the problem is I don't think this image was very well planned out. The base of the card was cut from the shadow feature at 18" . Using Design Studio, I welded the two shadows together and hid the remaining pieces.  The actual Candy Corn was cut at 19-3/4". I noticed that the bigger you went in size with this image, the more unproportional it was, which caused some issues when layering it all together.

For my three-loop bow, I used the Pumpkin Spice Crinkled Ribbon from the Colors of Autumn Set. Centered it off with an "Orange Licorice" - ONE of 7 NEW colors - Baker's Twined button.

No card of mine would be complete without some dimension! I simply cut out an extra Candy Corn layer at 19-3/4" and used some orange foam to create my homemade dimensionals before placing my final patterned paper layer.

FCCB Challenge Me Monday #73 - Chocolate Strawberry Cake Slice

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is all about a PIECE OF CAKE! Simply create a project with a cake, cupcake or any other baked good on it. As always, there needs to be at least ONE Cricut cut on your project.

My PIECE OF CAKE was made using the Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge cut at 10.5".
