Pin It Now!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Whimsie Doodles' January 2013 Monthly Challenge!

Its a NEW Year and we have a NEW Challenge for you over at Whimsie Doodles! This month's Whimsie Doodles' Challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE

Simply create a NEW - no backlinking, please - card, layout, project, etc based on the SKETCH designed by our very own Doodlelicious Diva Laura

This month we will have TWO (2) lucky winners for the challenge! One (1) lucky winner will be drawn at random to win a FREE Whimsie Doodles image, of their choice, from our latest release. And the second winner will join our team as a Guest Artist in March 2013!!

Make sure to check out our Monthly Challenge Details Page for all rules and specifics.

With Valentine's Day ONE month away, I used this month's SKETCH CHALLENGE to get started on some Valentine Cards.

 Tweet - Valen-Tinies Collection

I used an older but still SOO ADORABLE Whimsie Doodles Collection called Valen-Tinies. You can find the Valen-Tinies Collection in the Valentine Section of the Whimsie Doodles Store.

Hog - Valen-Tinies Collection

The Collection includes NINE(9) Digital Valentine Images and SEVEN(7) coordinating sentiments. I only used FOUR(4) of the NINE(9) Images available.

Wool - Valen-Tinies Collection

The images are sized to 2" and can be perfectly punched out with a 2" Circle Punch. I used my Circle Nestabilities to cut them out and emboss.

Whale - Valen-Tinies Collection

The images were done in a combination of paper piecing and coloring with PrismaColor Pencils. I also added some Glossy Accents and sprinkled Martha Stewart Glitter to the small hearts on the images.

They were then adhered to a paper rosette I made using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Rosette Die I got from Shop Pumpkin Spice. I also sprinkled some Martha Stewart Glitter around the edges.

Wool - Valen-Tinies Collection

I used last year's We R Memory Keepers Love Struck Paper Pad on all the cards and scraps from the same collection for the paper piecing.

Whale - Valen-Tinies Collection

The sentiments were then added with some small hearts cut with my Cricut and a button with some "Maraschino" Twinery Twine - available at My Craft Spot

Hog - Valen-Tinies Collection

I couldn't just leave the inside of the cards blank, so using Photoshop Elements I erased the borders from the "Valen-Tinies" leaving only the image. I then used MS Word to recolor the image and enlarge it to fit inside of the card. Each card's inside matches the "Valen-Tinies" used on the card front.

The "Happy Valentine's Day!" Sentiment is from the My Craft Spot "Build A Valentine" Stamp Set

NOW, its YOUR turn! Create a NEW - no backlinking please -   Card, Layout, project using the SKETCH designed by Doodlelicious Diva Laura and link it up to the Whimsie Doodles Blog by  (ok..I'll be back with a date) 10PM CST for your chance to win a FREE Whimsie Doodles Image.
