My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #4 - Feliz Navidad

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #4!

All week long, the My Craft Spot DT will be featuring Sneak Peeks from ONE of 5 NEW Stamp Sets and 3 NEW Metal Dies! Then on Saturday, November 2nd, we will have a Stamp Release Party Blog Hop! There will be TONS of prizes along the way, so you won't want to miss it!

All of the NEW Stamp Sets and Metal Dies will available for purchase on Saturday, November 2nd.

Today's Sets are Snowflake Border Metal Die and Joy Filled Christmas Stamp Set.

For today's sneak peek, we have another AMAZING Metal Die and JAM PACKED Stamp Set. The NEW Joy Filled Christmas Stamp Set is FILLED with amazing Christmas Sentiments. It even includes a Spanish Sentiment - perfect for all my Christmas cards for my relatives - which was the inspiration for my Sneak Peek Card today.

The "Feliz Navidad" Sentiment - Merry Christmas - from the NEW Joy Filled Christmas Stamp Set was stamped onto the "Fishtail Tag" from the NEW Ribbon Banners Straight Metal Dies. I then layered it over an Ornate Label cut using the My Craft Spot Ornate Label Metal Die and stamped with a coordinating stamp from the NEW Ornate Label - Christmas Stamp Set.

To the Ornate Label, I added a Snowflake Die made using the NEW Snowflake Border Metal Die. I ran the Snowflake thru my Xyron 1.5" Create A Sticker Machine to add an even layer of adhesive and sprinkle with glitter. A blue button and a pearl were added to the Snowflake Die using the Xyron 3/16" High Tack Adhesive Dots.

I based the card on the Mojo Monday #315 Sketch and replaced the "Fishtail" Banners on the sketch with the NEW Snowflake Border Metal Die. I used the same technique and ran the border thru my Xyron 1.5" Create A Sticker Machine and sprinkled with glitter.

I finished off the card with some of My Craft Spot "Sky Blue" Crinkle Ribbon layered with Ivory Jute String - available at My Craft Spot - silver Jingle Bells and a Maya Road Vintage Pearl Trinket Pin. And lastly, I added a few "Caribbean" Sequins - available at My Craft Spot.

I left the inside blank but added two little snowflakes from the NEW Ornate Label - Christmas Stamp Set.

I hope you are still with me and have enjoyed my "FELIZ NAVIDAD" Card for today's My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #4.

My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #1 - Pinecone Christmas & Joy to the World

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #1!

The day has FINALLY come! Kimberly and My Craft Spot's very own Design Team Member Robin from Robin's Creative Cottage have been HARD at work designing WONDERFUL Stamp Sets and Metal Dies.

Today's Sets  are Christmas Banner Sentiments and Ribbon Banners (straight & arched) Metal Dies!

These sets are soo much FUN, I couldn't help myself but make TWO cards for todays Sneak Peek #1. The Ribbon Banners (straight & arched) Metal Dies are a MUST HAVE for any crafter and have become my FAVORITE My Craft Spot Metal Die. You can expect to see LOTS of projects using these NEW Ribbon Banners (straight & arched) Metal Dies.

For my FIRST card, I used the longer Arched Banner from the NEW Ribbon Banners Arched Metal Dies.  As soon as I saw the NEW Ribbon Banners Metal Dies the first idea that came to mind was having the Banner placed over a window opening.

I stamped the NEW Arched Ribbon Banner with the "Merry Christmas" Sentiment from the NEW Christmas Banner Sentiments Stamp Set. The sentiments were designed especially to fit inside the NEW Ribbon Banners (straight & arched) Metal Dies.

The NEW Ribbon Banners (straight & arched) Metal Dies were designed to have a 3D look.  Some of the banners include scoring lines to make it easier to fold.

I used the smaller of the "Merry Christmas" Sentiments, so I would be able to add a small Natural Jute String - available at My Craft Spot - bow on the Banner. I add a few Berry Red Sequins - available at My Craft Spot - for an added touch.

Through the Window Opening, you can see the Pinecone and Berries from Miss Kate Cuttables. I first used the png file to print them out and then used the svg file to cut out only the pinecones & berries and popped them out.

I stamped the inside with the "Holly Jolly Christmas" Sentiment from the NEW Christmas Banner Sentiments Stamp Set. - Please excuse the bad stamping, I used the wrong acrylic block. I can assure that the stamp gives you a clean and crisp stamped sentiment. -

~*~

For my second card, I used the longer Straight Banner from the NEW Ribbon Banners Straight Metal Dies.

I stamped it with the "Joy to the World" Sentiment from the NEW Christmas Banner Sentiments Stamp Set.

I placed the Straight Banner over a wooden Maya Road Doilie that I first sprayed with Maya Road White Out Mist, then applied some adhesive with my Xyron Glue Stick and sprinkled it with Martha Stewart Glitter.

I then tied some "Sky Blue" Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot and layered it with Red Jute String, a Red Rose and Silver Jingle Bell. I also added a few Clear Sequins - from the Tuxedo Set, available at My Craft Spot - to the card.

Here is a quick look at the 3D effect these NEW Ribbon Banners Metal Dies give to your cards. I added two small square foam dots from the Xyron Teresa Collins Kit only to assure the banner didn't get bent and broken.

The inside of the card was stamped with a Christmas Sentiment from last year's My Craft Spot "Joy to the World" Stamp Set.

I hope you are still with me and have enjoyed my TWO cards for today's My Craft Spot Christmas 2013 Stamp Release Party Sneak Peek #1.

~*~

I was so excited to hear that Xyron and Doodlebug had teamed up to work together on a Blog Hop. I just LOVE Doodlebug's CLEAN patterns and CUTE Designs. Doodlebug was so generous with the product they sent over to Xyron - I got to play with almost the ENTIRE Doodlebug Halloween Parade Collection. Their ADORABLE Halloween Parade Icon Stickers inspired my first project for today's Blog Hop - yep, that's right. I have two projects for you today. Click HERE for my second project. - a HALLOWEEN FUN HOUSE!

I found a Wooden House Shadowbox in the Christmas Aisle of my local AC Moore and immdiately thought it would make a GREAT Halloween Fun House filled with all the ADORABLE characters from the Doodlebug Halloween Parade Collection. I started altering the Christmas House Shadowbox into a HALLOWEEN FUN HOUSE by giving it a nice coat of Martha Stewart High Gloss Beetle Black Acrylic Paint. -  I had pictures of the house before I started and as I was painting it, but I guess my Camera got hungry and ate those pictures because I can't find them anywhere on the SD card, sorry. -

After painting the house I started adding my patterned papers to the roof, sides and edges of the Halloween Fun House. I used the back side of the Doodlebug Candy Sticks paper for the roof. I normally trace the shape onto my paper, but due to the shape of the roof I was unable to do this. However, it was not that difficult THANKS to the help of my Xyron® 1.5" Sticker Maker with Repositionable Adhesive. Running the strips of paper through my Xyron® 1.5" Sticker Maker with Repositionable Adhesive allowed me to shape the paper to the wavy contour of the roof and then remove it to give it a clean cut with my sharp scissors. And lastly I gave it a quick sand with my Core'dinations SandIt Set - SandIt Gadget & Dust Buddy.

Then I cut several different measured strips of paper from the 6x6 pad and 12x12 sheets from the Doodlebug Halloween Parade Collection. I ran the larger sized strips through my Xyron® 5" CreativeStation™, the smaller ones through the Xyron® 3” Sticker Maker and the very thin strips through the Xyron® 1.5" Sticker Maker, Using my Xyron Adhesive Products makes it SOOO much easier and cleaner to alter items. I then simply arranged them in the order I wanted.

With the base of my Halloween Fun House all dressed up with the Doodlebug's Halloween Parade Papers, I moved onto adding a few touches to the Doodlebug Halloween Parade Icon Cardstock Stickers, This & That Stickers, and Quote Stickers.  I used my Stickles to add some glitter to the edges of all the stickers, my Sakura White Gel Pen to add in some shine, and chalk to add some cheeks to the Vampire, Frankie Boy and Ghost Icon Cardstock Stickers.

To make the Icon Cardstock Stickers stand up inside each "Room" of the Halloween Fun House, I took two pieces of the foam squares from the Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit by Xyron® and adhered them together in an L-shape. I then placed the Icon Cardstock Sticker on the longer back side of the L-shaped foam tape.

I wanted to give the Halloween Fun House a slightly "Spooky" Attic, so I added the "Ghost" Icon Cardstock Sticker peeking out from under the roof upside and the "Bat" Icon Cardstock Sticker swirling around inside the attic.

To get the "Ghost" Icon Cardstock Sticker to fit inside the Attic, I had to snip off some of the sticker's bottom - poor thing, I cut of its legs -. I then added a strip of Xyron® 1/4" Double-Sided High TackTape  to the front and a foam square from the Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit by Xyron® to the back of the Ghost.

To the center of the Halloween Fun House, I added the "Halloween" Banner from the This & That Stickers Sheet, which was previously spruced up with some Stickles. I used some more foam squares from the Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit by Xyron® to adhere the sticker and make it pop out. I used another foam square to sit the "Owl" Icon Cardstock Sticker on the "Halloween" Banner.

To the sides of the Halloween Fun House, I adhered strips from the backside of the Doodlebug Designs' Halloween Parade "Knock Knock" Paper.  I also added the "Tombstone" from the This & That Stickers Sheet and "Pumpkin" Icon Cardstock Sticker to each side adhered with the foam squares from the Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit by Xyron®. A strip of grass was punched using the Fiskars Grass Border Punch from the backside of the Halloween Parade "Midnight Magic" Paper

In the AWESOME package Doodlebug Designs sent Xyron, I recieved the "Be Witchy" Doodle-Pops Cardstock Sticker and I knew EXACTLY how I wanted to include it in my Halloween Fun House.

To get the "Be Witchy" Doodle-Pops Cardstock Sticker to hover over the Halloween Fun House, I added a swirled gauge wire with some Xyron® 3/16" High Tack Adhesive Dots in between her cardstock layers. Then I adhered the gauge wire to the back of the Halloween Fun House with a strip of Xyron® 1/2" Double-Sided High Tack Tape.

The "Clouds" and "Crescent Moon" from the This & That Stickers were adhered with some foam squares from the Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit by Xyron® to a clear plastic circle die-cut attached to the Witch's Hat.

To finish my Halloween Fun House, I added some Glitter Tulle adhered with the Xyron® 1/2" Double-Sided High Tack Tape to the underside of the House's Roof. - Again, I had pictures but my hungry camera ate them -  I layered on a bow made with "Marmalade" Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot, a tag from the This & That Stickers Sheet and a button with some Purple Doodle Twine.

I have a quick tip to share with you when adhering Cardstock Tag Stickers. To remove the stickiness from the back of the Tag Cardstock Sticker, simply brush it with some Baby Powder. Then I added a Xyron® 3/8" High Tack Adhesive Dots  to each the Button Twine and This & That Tag Sticker and layered them together on top of the ribbon.

And finally, the HALLOWEEN FUN HOUSE is finished! I hope you have enjoyed my Halloween Fun House and tutorial on how to put it all together.

Shop Pumpkin Spice October Blog Hop & Challenge #40 - Acorn Autumn Wishes

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Shop Pumpkin Spice's October 2013 Blog Hop!

If you've come from Carissa's Blog - Happily Ever Paper Crafter, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Shop Pumpkin Spice October 2013 Blog Hop, start HERE.

Each Design Team Member will be featuring an original project using products found at the Shop Pumpkin Spice Store. Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration!

In addition, its time for ShopPumpkinSpice's Weekly Challenge #40!!
Thi week's challenge is all about the GREEN & BROWN! Simply make a project that makes you think of GREEN & BROWN (other colors welcomed).

~*~

When I think of GREEN & BROWN it reminds me of the Fall Foliage, leaves turning colors and the million little acorns that fall from my front door tree. So even though its World Card Making Day, I opted to create a 3D Acorn Box.

I used the Acorn Box from My Scrap Chick and cut it out at its original imported size. The Acorn Box Base and Acorn Lid Base were cut from Core'dinations Cardstock I got from the Shop Pumpkin Spice Store and adhered together using Xyron® 1/2" Double-Sided High Tack Tape . I ran the stem pieces thru my Xyron® 1.5" Sticker Maker and used the Xyron® 3” Sticker Maker to adhere another layer to the top of the Acorn Box Lid.

I used some BROWN Core'dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock and embossed it with my Argyle Embossing Folder for the Acorn's Lid. To give the lid some more dimension, I curved each piece and added a small strip of Xyron® 1/4" Double-Sided High Tack Tape to each end before adhering to the base.

I repeated the same steps with the bottom portion of the Acorn Box using a GREEN sheet paper from the My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side ONE I got from the  Shop Pumpkin Spice Store.

I embellished the Acorn's Box Lid with a bow made from some Raffia, pieces from a Fall Berry Pick(GREEN - as in recycled), GREEN Button threaded with some Cappuccino Baker's Twine(BROWN) - available at the  Shop Pumpkin Spice Store - and sentiment strip.

I stamped the sentiment with My Pink Stamper "Texas Chocolate" Hybrid Ink - available ONLY at the Shop Pumpkin Spice Store - and added a Xyron® 3/8" High Tack Adhesive Dots to each piece and then arranged them together as I liked.

The Acorn Autumn Wishes Box opens up to reveal a good size space for a goodie bag. I plan on filling it up with some Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Truffles or other yummy Fall Treat.

I hope you are still with me and have enjoyed my 3D Acorn Autumn Wishes Box using just some of the wonderful products you can find at Shop Pumpkin Spice Store .

Your next stop is Denine at the Shop Pumpkin Spice Blog. Go see what she has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to Shop Pumpkin Spice's GREEN & BROWN Weekly Challenge to be entered to win this week's prize!

I'd LOVE to hear what you think of my 3D Acorn Autumn Wishes Box so be sure to leave me a comment.
